Birthstones

Another common use on birthdays is buying eachother a birthstone. Let me explain a thing or two about birthstones.

Birthstones are gemstones associated with the month in which you were born. These day they’re nothing more than a personal jewel. It comes in different shapes and forms, most women who own their birthstone have one in a ring or in a pearl on a necklace.

The use and believe in these stones is very old. Gemstones were strong amulets and protected the wearer from harm and sometimes even brought happiness. Today some people still believe their birthstone brings them happiness and extra protection. The powers the gemstones should have is very doubtfull. But it's nice to talk about the rich history of the birthstones. It remains a magical and sometimes expensive world, the world of birthstones.
